Bruce's experience in government at both federal and provincial levels in Canada, and his international experience, give him a broad perspective on environmental policy, planning and regulatory issues. His government experience has included regulatory enforcement and environmental assessment, as well as toxic chemicals management and research.
He has been active in environmental auditing and is a certified auditor under the ForestCare protocols developed by the Alberta Forest Products Association. His technical credentials include a doctoral degree in aquatic ecology and numerous scientific publications.
Bruce has led several projects in India, including a one-year project for the Asian Development Bank, leading to a management and investment strategy for the State of Tamil Nadu to address industrial pollution problems for large and small scale industries. Bruce has also been involved in environmental training and organizational capacity building, including a training course in environmental assessment to CN Rail's Canadian and US operations, and the development of a training program in environmental impact assessment for Alberta First Nations.
